Energy!
People with
Parkinson's Disease are apt to be low on energy many times during
the day, as a result of many factors. Stress, attitude, and
emotional upsets take a terrible, and largely unknown amount
of energy, which leaves a person exhausted. Also, there is a
tendency not to eat when tired, which further depletes one's
energy. Add, that to a person's body being unable to function
as it used to makes things worse.
Energy comes
from a number of sources, namely food, water, supplements, and
the sun!
FOOD
Our main source of energy, is our food. This is our "fuel".
However, with the present means of farming, the is an estimated
30% less actual value in our food, compared to 50 years ago!
So, it is necessary to add some supplements to our food. Which
I will address in a separate section.
Super
charged foods
However
there are "foods" that are what I call "Special
helpers:
Knox
Gelatin,
which you can get at your food store, which can be dissolved
in hot water. Allow to cool, and drink as needed.
Jello,
in whatever favor you like. Dissolve one package in 4 cups of
hot water, heat and drink when your energy is low, and you need
a boost! Great for kids!

Bone
marrow,
can be consumed in soup or broth. Crack open the bone, "leg
bones are best", and stew.
Beef
Juice,
take some "chopped or ground beef, add water and boil;
allow to cool place in fridge,(fat will come to the top), then
skim. This can then be favored to suit, or put with other food.
Proteins,
foods of any kind.
Seeds,
seeds are the wellspring of life. They are energy in the raw,
and great either as is ,or in the case of alfalfa, or mung beans,
sprouted.
SUPPLEMENTS
CoQ10, NADH, Iron, and B12 to name a few. Supplements will be
dealt with in another section.
* With PD, folks may lose the ability to taste, smell, and swallow
which results in a reduced desire to eat. Liquid energy foods
may be a good solution.
Beef
Soup Mix!
Instant
Energy!
Soup mixes,
both beef and chicken, can be a source of instant energy!
I put a
'heaping tbsp' of beef mix as pictured into a cup of hot water,
stir and drink. Every once in awhile, I add a 1/4 of a tsp of
Knox's gelatine if I am in need of an extra boost.

These soup
mixes come with and without MSG, which does not agree with me.
These mixes can be found in the larger grocery stores in the
' bulk ' department.
It is a
good idea to start out with a little less than I use, and work
up.
