Headache
For the
purpose of Creative Visualization, we will concern ourselves
with headaches that have been created by stress and anger, which
are easy to take care of. With the exception of migraines, there
will no attempt to deal with headaches of a medical nature.
1) Make
sure that you are completely comfortable with each section,
prior to going on to the next one.
2) If you
are not living alone, select a time and a place where and when
you will not be bothered, and hang a "DO NOT DISTURB"
sign on the door when practicing.
3) A physical
trigger is still required, but by now it should be almost
automatic. Squeeze once, relax, close your eyes, slow down your
breathing and go into relaxation. It only requires a light trance.
(This
exercise should not be tried until you have mastered the previous
ones).
Suppose
you have a headache that you would like to get rid of.
Close your
eyes and squeeze your thumb and go into relaxation.
Pretend
you are 2 people, one is yourself as is, the other a real tiny
person.
Visualize
that "little" person going up into your head looking
for the headache. Now with your eyes closed, point to the spot
on your head where you have found the headache.
A
lot of these questions are going to sound silly. Just go with
the flow.
1. What
color is the headache?
(The color
will often tell you the cause.)
Red=Anger:
Black=Stress: Blue=Depression.
2. How big
is the headache?
(If you
were going to put colored headache into cups, how many cups
would it take to hold the headache?)
3. Have
you ever made a snowball?
Pretend
that the colored headache is like snow
(Now, go
around and pick up that colored snow "headache",
and then,
make snowballs with it).
There is
a garbage can nearby, put all that "headache" colored
snow in
that garbage can, and SLAM the lid down so that the headache
cannot get out. Put the can on a wagon which is sitting nearby,
and push the wagon to the back of your mind, There is a street
in front of you, going down a hill that ends up in a river.
Give the
wagon a big hard push.
Visualize
that wagon going down that hill faster and faster until it reaches
the bottom and falls into a river and sinks to the bottom. Taking
your headache with it. Never to bother you again.
Now with
your eyes still closed, give it a moment or two, then point
to where the headache is now.
If the headache
is gone, great.
If the headache
has moved or changed color, good.
This means
that the headache will go away, even if you have to repeat the
process, The good news is that it is of mental or emotional
origin, and not physical.
This process
only requires an altered state of consciousness, not a trance.
Just close your eyes and proceed.
